Variety Catalog Description
Hosta Eagle's Nest (Lydell, 2000) [Sport from H. Sum & Substance] This one from our friend Ran Lydell has medium green leaves, edged in a golden yellow. Leaves tend to slightly cup upwards. Clump is 18 high by 30 inches wide. Near white flowers. Pretty.
Hosta Edge of Night (Savory, 1988) [H. Green Gold x H. Halcyon] Very dark green leaves on a clump that gets 2 feet high and 4 feet wide. The perfect plant to use as a backdrop for your specimen plants. Upright habit. Lavender flowers.
Hosta El Capitan (Lachman, 1987) [A seedling whose pod parent is H. Beatrice] One of our favorite classic varieties, leaves are dark green with wide cream to yellow-chartreuse edge. Clump gets 2 feet tall and nearly 4 feet wide. Beautiful and consistent performer. Lavender flowers. Outstanding planted in mass.
Hosta Elvis Lives (Avent, 1995) [H. Peter Pan x H. Green Fountain] Blue green wavy leaves turn dark green later in the season. The clump gets 25 inches tall and 4 feet wide. Lavender flowers. A fine tribute to the "King of Rock & Roll". Pretty plant for a big pot.
Hosta Emerald Crust (T. & Z. Nursery/Zilis, 1988) [Sport from H. Fortunei Gigantea] Amazing leaves are almost all white with a thin green edge. Will make an impressive clump at 20 inches high and 40 inches wide. Pale lavender flowers. Slow to grow due to white coloring.
Hosta Emerald Edger (Zilis/Q & Z Nursery, NR) Medium green leaves on a fast growing clump. Lavender flowers. Makes a great edger for the shade perennial border.
Hosta Emerald Tiara (Walters Gardens, 1988) [Sport from H. Golden Scepter] This beautiful Tiaras, this one with gold to yellow centers and a dark green edge. Clump gets 12-16 inches high and nearly two feet wide. Fast grower and a bright border plant. Dark Lavender flowers
Hosta Emily Dickinson (Lachman, 1987) [H. Neat Splash hybrid x H. plantaginea] Medium green leaves have a creamy edge. Fast growing clump gets 19 inches high and 32 inches wide. Deep lavender flowers. Very pretty clump!
Hosta Eunice Fisher (E. Fisher/P. Ruh, 1985) [H. Crispula Hybrid] Clump gets 22" wide and 2 feet tall. Leaves are a dark green and this makes a pretty clump in your garden.
Hosta Evelyn McCafferty (Arett, 1975) [ Parentage Unknown] Leaves are blue green and make a nice size clump at 14 inches high and 30 inches wide. Talked about as one of the most under-appreciated hostas in the garden. White flowers

Hosta Eye Catcher (Goodwin, 1996) [Parentage unknown] Randy Goodwin gives us a winner here, it's cupped leaves are a yellow gold and put on a show in spring. The clump gets a foot high and two feet wide. Give it some sun and it will amaze you with different flushes of color throughout the season. Pale lavender flowers
Hosta Fall Bouquet (Aden, 1986) [H. Aden 322 x H. Aden 324] Dark green leaves on a small-medium clump that gets a foot high and 18 inches tall. What makes this one special is the late flowering season of lavender flowers.
Hosta Fall Emerald (Ruh/Summers, 1997) [Parentage unknown] A fast growing clump of medium green leaves gets over 2 feet tall and 43 inches wide. Perfect inexpensive backdrop plant for your specimens. Lavender flowers
Hosta Fan Dance (Benedict, 1987) [Sport from H. Dorothy] Chartreuse leaf that gets a lighter buttery color as the season progresses with a dark green edge. Clump gets a foot high and 15 inches wide. Very pretty in spring. Lavender flowers
Hosta Feather Boa (O'Harra, 1991) [Sport from H. subcrocea] Fast growing tiny cute gold little jewel. Another hosta for the Fairy Garden. Small pointed wavy leaves of bright gold. In July, the clump gets 15" wide and 6-8" tall and have light lavender flowers.
Hosta Fire and Ice (Hansen/Shady Oaks, 1999) [Sport from H. Patriot] The thick leaves are pure white with a dark green edge that extends lighter into the center. Beautiful when planted with it's parent. Slow growing but worth the wait! Pale lavender flowers
Hosta Flamboyant (Aden, 1978) [A seedling whose pod parent is X-ray treated seed from Golden seedling] A top breeder plant used by many hybridizes. Clump has streaked leaves of cream, yellow and green. Very Fertile
Hosta Flame Stitch (Walters Gardens, 1991) [Sport from H. ventricosa Aureomarginata] This hosta is a sight to see when in a mature clump. Leaves are white centered with dark green edges. Clump gets 18 inches tall and 2 feet wide. Flowers are a deep violet. Stunning!
Hosta Fleeta Brownell Woodroffe (O'Harra, 1986) [A seedling whose pod parent is H. Tokudama] Leaves are a pretty blue green with a chartreuse yellow edge. Clump gets 22 inches tall and 28 inches wide. Flowers are near white.
Hosta Flower Power (Vaughn, 1987) Fragrant [H. nigrescens x H. plantaginea] Leaves are grayish green on this large clump of nearly 4 feet wide and 30 inches tall. The very fragrant large flowers are what makes this one special. Plant it near a garden bench and enjoy!
Hosta fluctuans (Species) A medium sized clump will get 28 inches wide. Each green leaf has a shiny top, The plants have light lavender flowers in early summer. Another Species for the Collector.
Hosta Formal Attire (Vaughn, 1988) [H. Breeders Choice x H. Frances Williams] One of our favorites a MUST for any garden. Dark green leaves with wide creamy white border that starts yellowish. Clump is over 2 feet tall and nearly 3 feet wide. It will call you to it! Lavender flowers
Hosta Fort Knox (Wilkins, 1989) [H. Gold Regal x H. Aspen Gold] Bright yellow leaves on a very upright clump that measures 2 feet tall and nearly 4 feet wide. Great specimen plant!
Hosta Fortunei Aureomarginata (Hylander/AHS, 1987) One of the more under appreciated hostas out there. This beauty has green leaves with a pretty gold edge. Medium to large clump.
Hosta Fortunei Gigantea (Bailey/AHS, 1987) [Parentage unknown] Large green leaves form a dense clump. Great backdrop plant to frame other specimen plants. Grows quickly.
Hosta Fortunei Hyacinthina (Hylander/AHS, 1987) [Parentage unknown] A vigorous grower with grayish green leaves. Makes a nice medium sized clump. This plant has given us the most sports, you can almost plant it and watch it mutate! Lavender flowers
Hosta Fortunei Hyacinthina Streaked [Sport of H. Fortunei Hyacinthina] Very Rare and sought after plant. Green leaves streaked throughout. Should make a great parent for the breeding programs.

Hosta Foxy Doxy (Belle Gardens, 1994) [H. William Lachman x H. Frances Williams] Blue green streaked leaves, yet another breeder plant.
Hosta Fragrant Blue

(Aden, 1988) [H. Aden 8413 x H. Aden 8270] Blue green leaves start out powdery blue and turn greenish in summer. Smaller clump is 8 inches high and a foot wide. Very fragrant nearly white flowers!
Hosta Fragrant Bouquet (Aden, 1982) Fragrant [H. Fascination x H. Summer Fragrance] Fast growing with yellowish green leaf & creamy margins. It will get 18 inches tall and just over 2 feet wide. Like most of the fragrant ones, this one will take more sun. Beautiful fragrant white flowers. 1998 AHGA Hosta of the Year
Hosta Francee

(Klopping/AHS, 1986) [Parentage unknown] One of the more popular older varieties, this hosta has dark green leaves with a crisp white edge. Makes a medium large clump and it outstanding planted in mass. Pretty lavender flowers.
Hosta Freckles (Viette/Summers, NR) [Parentage Unknown] Little is known about this rare cultivar. Leaves are chartreuse with green freckles. Makes a medium size clump.
Hosta Fried Bananas

(Solberg, 1994) Fragrant [Sport from H. Guacamole] This fast growing plant has a yellowish green leaf on a nearly two foot tall by three foot wide clump. Large white very fragrant flowers. Plant it to enjoy the fragrance.
Hosta Frosted Jade (Maroushek, 1978) [A seedling whose pod parent is H. montana Krossa B-1] Probably the best classic hosta, it's medium jade green leaves bordered by creamy white edge. Where the edge meets the center you get a great green blended color. 26-28 tall and 3 feet wide. Near white flowers. One of THE best!
Hosta Frosty (Ross, NR) [Parentage unknown] Green leaves have a white sprinkling on it's leaves giving them a frosted look. Prominent veins. Another very RARE and beautiful hosta
Hosta Frosty Morn (Lachman, 1993) [A seedling whose pod parent is H. rupifraga] The leaves have a frosted gold appearance which makes this hosta quite different. The clump will get 9 inches tall and 21 inches wide. Topped in late summer with pale lavender flowers
Hosta Gaijin (Zilis/Zumbar, 1995) [Parentage unknown] This hosta makes a stunning border in the shade garden. Small hosta has green leaves with gold edges. The clump only gets 4 inches tall and 4 and a half inches wide. CUTE! Great for the fairy garden. Pale lavender flowers.
Hosta Gala (Aden, 1978) [H. Tardiflora x H. Tardiflora] Paul Aden gives us another beauty with this hosta. Leaves are a medium green with a bold yellow edge. Clump gets 10 inches tall and 14 inches wide. Topped with purple flowers. Very striking hosta.
Hosta Galaxy (Lachman, 1987) [H. Beatrice hybrid x H. Frances Williams] A streaked breeding plant with dark green and yellow to creamy white streaks. Should produce interesting seedlings. Clump gets 15 inches tall and 30 inches wide. Medium lavender flowers
Hosta Galaxy Light (Lachman, 1991) [Sport from H. Galaxy] The parent settled down to produce this sport, with it's leaves having a medium yellow center and a dark green edge. Clump gets 10 inches tall and 14 inches wide with medium lavender flowers. Quite pretty.
Hosta Garnet Prince (Banyai/Dishon, 1991) [A seedling whose pod parent is H. nigrescens] One of the many hostas out there boasting it's red stems. This one however, has an upright habit so you can actually see the colored stems. Dark green leaves on a 16 inch tall and nearly 3 foot wide clump. Medium lavender flowers. Very pretty

Hosta Gene Summers (Aden, 1978) [H. Flamboyant x H. Intrigue] Named for Alex Summers late beloved wife Gene. Beautiful medium size clump that is a foot high and 18 wide. Leaves are creamy white centers with a green edge. Lavender flowers
Hosta Ginko Craig (Craig/Summers/AHS, 1986) [Parentage unknown] The perfect edger plant, grows amazingly quick. Dark green leaves with a crisp white edge. Clump grows 4 inches tall, and 10 inches wide. Great for the fairy garden. Medium lavender flowers
Hosta Glory

(Savory, 1985) [A seedling whose pod parent is H. August Moon] This one is one of Dan's picks for great growing hostas. It has chartreuse yellow leaves that get more gold with some sun. Clump grows 11 inches high and two feet wide. Very pretty planted in mass. Light purple flowers. Get 3 and you'll have an instant display that grows bigger and bigger each year!
Hosta Goddess of Athena (Kuk's Forest, 1987) [H. decorata x H. decorata] From our friend Bob Kuk, he gives us this lovely hosta. Dark green leaves are bordered with a chartreuse edge. Stands out as a beauty in any garden. Clump gets 9 inches tall and a foot wide. Lavender flowers
Hosta Gold Banner (J. Anderson, NR) [Sport of Sun Power] Leaves are a pretty green with a light gold edge and are held upright on a 2 foot tall and nearly 3 foot wide clump. Flowers are light lavender
Hosta Gold Edger

(Aden, 1978) [H. Blue Cadet x H. Blue Cadet] Thick gold-yellow leaves on this great border plant. Clump only gets 7 inches tall and a foot wide. Has the same heavy substance as it's parent. White flowers.
Hosta Gold Regal (Aden, 1974) [seedling x seedling] From Paul Aden's breeding program, we have this beauty. Yellow chartreuse leaves on a very upright clump. Give this one a little sun for best coloration. Clump gets 16 inches tall and two feet wide. Pretty purple flowers
Hosta Goldbrook (Bond, 1989) [Parentage unknown] This beauty comes to us from England. Medium green leaves with a broad yellow margin. Where the colors meet you get an unusual marbled look as the season progresses and the edge turn a more creamy color. Clump get 22 inches tall and 40 inches wide. Pale lavender flowers.
Hosta Goldbrook Glimmer (Bond, NR) [Parentage unknown] Another one of Sandra Bond's beauties, this one with the most subtle middle variegation and dark green to bluish leaves. Very thick leaves with pronounced veins. Very unique. Pale lavender flowers
Hosta Golden Circles (Ruh/Williams, 1998) [Sport from H. Frances Williams] The leaves are a blue green center with a golden yellow edge that varies in width. A pretty large clump that gets 19 inches tall and 28 inches wide, so give it some room. Flowers are near white.
Hosta Golden Gate

(O. Petryszyn, 1994) [(H. nigrescens x O.P). x H. 'Blue Whirls'] Olga gives us this stunning gold leaved hosta . Clump gets 52" wide and is 26" tall. Impressive size hosta with medium lavender flowers
Hosta Golden Fountain (J. Dishon, 1993) [H. Beatrice x H. Green Fountain] If you give this one some sun, the lance shaped leaves turn a pretty golden color, or in shade they turn a light green. Forms a nice size clump that is 14' tall and 31" wide, with lavender flowers.
Hosta Golden Oriole (Smith/BHHS, 1988) [H. Kabitan x H. Hadspen Heron] This one is a stunner in early spring where it's leaves emerge a bright gold yellow. Alter as the season progresses they turn a more greenish color. Forms a medium size clump with lavender flowers.
Hosta Golden Scepter (Savory, 1983) [Sport from H. Golden Tiara] It's leaves are like little golden hearts. Forms a nice small clump that gets about 6-8 inches tall and 18 inches wide. Makes a great border plant for any shade garden, especially planted with the blues. Lavender flowers
Hosta Golden Sculpture (Anderson, 1982) [Parentage unknown] Known as one of the better golds and tolerates more sun. This clump gets 30 inches tall and 40 inches wide. Give her some room. Pretty white flowers.
Hosta Golden Teacup (Wilkins, 1989) [H. Aspen Gold x H. Gold Regal] From our friend Jim Wilkins breeding program we have this cutie. Bright yellow leaves on an upright clump that gets a foot tall and 18 inches wide. Very pretty in a shade garden. White flowers in midseason.
Hosta Golden Waffles (Aden, 1976) [H. Aden 381 x H. Aden 388] This one starts out a light gold - chartreuse color, then changes to more gold as the season progresses. Clump reaches 16 inches tall and nearly two feet wide. Pretty lavender flowers.
Hosta Good as Gold (Aden, NR) [Parentage Unknown] Yet another from Paul Aden. Pretty heart shaped golden leaves on this full forming plant. Medium size clump has lavender flowers.
Hosta Granary Gold (Smith/BHHS, 1988) [A seedling whose pod parent is H. Fortunei Aurea] Another from Eric Smith, this time with beautiful gold leaves. Forms a medium size clump that turns heads early in the spring. It's one of the brightest yellows we've seen. Lavender flowers
Hosta Grand Prize (Walters Gardens, 1998) [Sport from H. Grand Tiara] Another of the Tiara group, this one with medium green leaves with a bright gold edge that change to more creamy white as the season progresses. Beautiful purple flowers.
Hosta Grand Slam (Benedict/H. Gowen, 1990) [Parentage unknown] Dark green glossy leaves have a pretty wave to them. They almost appear to be dancing when the wind catches them. Clump is 10 inches tall and 26 inches wide. Dark violet flowers.
Hosta Grand Tiara

(Pollock, 1991) [Sport from H. Golden Tiara] Pretty green leaves with a nice wide chartreuse border. Makes a great border plant. Clump gets 14 inches tall and 22 inches wide. Purple flowers in mid season. Very NICE hosta.
Hosta Great American Expectations (Wade/Elslager, 1999)[Sport from H. Great Expectations] From Van Wade, this one grows larger than it's parent and faster too! Yellowish center with a dark green edge. Clump get 26 inches wide and nearly 4 feet wide. WOW! Flowers are near white.
Hosta Great Expectations

(Aden, 1988) [Sport from H. Elegans] Although this is a slow grower, it is one of the most beautiful hostas of all time. Yellow centered leaves with a dark green edge. Clump gets 22 inches wide and nearly 3 feet wide. Plant as a specimen and give it some time. You won't be disappointed! White flowers. 1992 Alex J. Summers Distinguished Merit Hosta
Hosta Great Lakes Gold (D. & J. Ward, 2000) [ H. White Vision x H. montana macrophylla] This one has beautiful golden, slightly rippled leaves. Clump gets 22 inches tall and 66 inches wide, and makes an impressive size quick. Pale lavender flowers
Hosta Green Angel (Klehm Nursery, 1990) [ Sport of H. Blue Angel] The all green form of Blue Angel this hosta gets huge. Great for the back of the bed to accent the variegated hostas. Clump gets 30 inches tall and 68 inches wide. WOW! Give her lots of room! White flowers
Hosta Green Eyes

(Benedict, 1990) [Sport from H. Kabitan] Cute, cute, cute! This little one have creamy yellow centers with a thin dark green edge. Especially wonderful in the fairy garden. Clump gets 3 inches tall and 8 inches wide. Fast grower. Lavender flowers
Hosta Green Gables (Walters Gardens, 1997) [Sport of H. Sum and Substance] It's parentage should tell you a little about it's size. This medium green clump will get three feet tall and 5 feet wide. Give her lots of room. Nice shiny leaves and lavender flowers
Hosta Green Gold (AHS, 1986) [Sport from H. Fortunei] Large green leaves with a yellow edge that later fades to a creamy color as the season progresses. Clump gets nearly 2 feet tall and over 4 feet wide. Lavender flowers
Hosta Green Piecrust (Williams/AHS, 1986) [Parentage unknown] This is an amazing hosta when it matures. The medium green leaves get a very wavy "piecrust" like edge. Just beautiful! Clump gets 30 inches wide and 57 inches wide. WOW! Pale lavender flowers.
Hosta Green Sheen (Aden, 1978) [H. Green Wedge x H. Chartreuse Wedge] This hosta have pretty green leaves that have a waxy sheen to them. Clump gets three feet tall and four feet wide. NICE! Pretty white flowers in mid season.
Hosta Green Sleeves

This is NOT the same plant as H. Greensleeves that has white leaves with a  green edge. Our plant came from TN and have big green leaves that makes a beautiful clump that gets 24 inches tall and 30 inches wide. We do not have an origin for this plant but we found it worth having in our garden, so we are sharing the find.
Hosta Gretchen (Summer, NR) [Parentage Unknown] Another of Alex's hostas named for one of his dogs.
Hosta Grey Ghost (Solberg, NR) [Sport of Blue Angel] Amazing in the spring, when it's leaves come out of the ground a creamy-white color, then turn a creamy-yellow and finally a  bluish color as the season progresses. Small clump only 8" tall and a foot wide. Display it where you can see it in spring!
Hosta Guacamole

(Solberg, 1994) Fragrant [Sport from H. Fragrant Bouquet] One of the fastest growing, prettiest hosta we grow. It's leaves are a golden yellow surrounded by a wide dark green edge. Give it some sun and you can almost watch it grow! Clump gets a foot tall and nearly 2 feet wide. Near white flowers in August and fragrant too! What more can you ask for in a hosta? 2002 AHGA Hosta of the Year
Hosta Guardian Angel (Thompson, 1995) [Sport of H. Blue Angel] This one is Lu's favorite hosta. An amazing specimen in any garden. It's leaves start out a creamy color that changes to a light green, and it is bordered in an intense blue green color. Amazing fusion of colors. Clump gets 2 feet tall and over 3 feet wide, with white flowers later in the season.
Hosta Gum Drop (Englerth/Ruh, 1987) [Parentage unknown] Many believe this is a sport of H. Gold Drop, it has cute little green leaves and forms a very compact clump, only getting 8 inches tall and a foot wide. Great for bordering your shade garden. Flowers are a lavender to pink color.
Hosta Gun Metal Blue (?) [Parentage Unknown] Leaves emerge with a wax coating and take on a "Gun Metal Blue" color. The leaves have a slight wave and are of thick substance and come to a pointy edge. Little is known about this new hosta.
Hosta Gypsy Rose Tease (Anderson, 2004) [Sport from H. Striptease] From Jim Anderson's TC lab comes this mini Striptease. Like it's parent it has creamy gold centered leaves with dark green edges. It also has the same white strip between the two colors on its leaves. Gets about 8 inches tall and 16 inches wide. Also known as just Gypsy Rose.
